Ben Ainslie, MBE is a three-times Olympic Sailing Gold Medalist. He won Olympic Gold again for Great Britain at the 2008 Games in Beijing.

Ainslie won silver at the 1996 Olympic Games and Gold in the 2000 Summer Olympics in the Laser class. He put on 40 pounds (18 kg) and moved to the larger Finn class for the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he won gold. In 2008 in Beijing he won his third Olympic Gold medal in a row making him the greatest Olympic sailor in the history of the sport.

At the beginning of 2005 he was working in the role of Tactician in the New Zealand based Emirates Team New Zealand who are preparing to compete in the challenger selection process to win the right to Challenge for the Americas Cup held by Alinghi.

Ben has won eight World and European Championships in his sailing career to date, been crowned ISAF World Sailor of the Year in 1998 and 2002, and four times won British Yachtsman of the Year.

Ben’s focus for the future is to combine both competing in the America’s Cup with the quest for more Olympic medals at London 2012.
