Chin-Ning Chu is a descendant of the pauper who became the first
Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. At the age of ten, her father began to teach her strategies
by reading from the text of the ancient Chinese art of war classics. In high school, she
became a novice at a Catholic convent until her father dragged her home. At college, while
a full-time student, she worked as a television actress and then as a marketeer for one
Taiwanese and two European pharmaceutical companies. Being a natural-born entrepreneur
with superb sales abilities, her earnings at the time were triple that of her
professors.
Today, Chin-Ning is the foremost speaker on the practical
application of Sun Tzu's Art of War and a promoter of strategic thinking as the core
competency among leaders of government and corporations worldwide. She collaborated with
Discovery Television and the U.S. Library of Congress on the production of their Great
Books Series: Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Chin-Ning crisscrosses five continents
delivering her custom-tailored speeches which raise sales dollars, expand domestic and
international market territories, and guide leaders in the making of tough decisions,
achieving a commonality among diverse cultural groups and assisting women to excel in the
workplace. As an Asian-born American and a woman, Chin-Ning has learned to compete by
going beyond the obvious in examining the different hues of rainbow - turning liabilities
into assets, profiting through surrender, creating strategies at will, and achieving the
state of natural knowing.
Her speaking style is energetic, truthful and
humorous; her message - profound and thought-provoking. Chin-Ning's work is frequently
praised by diverse global media from CNN, The London Financial Times, Business Week, and
USA Today to international editions of People Magazine and Vogue. Her work is highly
praised by global media from USA Today, Business Week to the United Kingdom's
Financial Times, China's People Daily, Australia's Financial Review and
Brazil's ISTO E.
When the world encountered collisions such as the caning
incident in Singapore, CNN's CrossFire turned to Chin-Ning for understanding. As North
Korea provoked the U.S. in their threat of nuclear escalation, Chin-Ning debated both
Senator John Kerry and General Scrowcroft and, against their arguments, predicted the
correct outcome on Larry King Show. When China, Japan and the U.S. were facing trade or
political conflicts, The O'Reilly Factor on Fox News came to Chin-Ning for
solutions.
"Chin-Ning" in Chinese means "Journey to Peace"
or "Path to Peace". Her personal story is a moving tale of the making of a
"New Renaissance Woman." Chin-Ning's life experiences have been her main,
personal tutor. Besides being an outstanding author and speaker, an Eastern philosopher
and historian, a marketeer, a sales warrior, a business and political consultant, and the
Master Strategist, she is also an accomplished fashion designer, classical music
historian, opera singer, actress and film-maker.
She is the president of the
Strategic Learning Institute, president of Asian Marketing Consultants, Inc. and
chairperson of NeuroScience Industries, Inc. Recently, Chin-Ning's name was listed
among the all-time Success Writers by the prominent British/U.S. publisher, Nicholas
Brealey Publishing. On the cover of the book "50 Success Classics," Chin-Ning
Chu is presented with such notables as Benjamin Franklin, Napoleon Hill, Sun Tzu and
Andrew Carnegie.
Speaking
The following topics are
merely guidelines. Chin-Ning customizes all of her presentations.
DO LESS,
ACHIEVE MORE
Competition demands that we achieve more today with fewer resources in
less time. Technology has promised us more leisure but instead has led many to new levels
of frustration and to feeling totally overwhelmed. We sometimes fail to achieve our goals
because we are trying too hard to succeed.
SUCCESS IS TODAY
For
most, when we speak of success, it is always somewhere in the distant future. Yet the
reality is that success cannot exist in the future because you do not exist in the future;
you only exist in the continuous moment of now. Whatever you want to be, you already are
at this moment. If you intend to be a member of the most prestigious high achievers'
club, then think "I am...". They just haven't sent you your membership card
yet. Furthermore, success is the result of your accumulated excellence, each and every
day. Only when you have a successful today, will you have a successful future.
LEADERSHIP - BECOMING A WILDLY INNOVATIVE, RAPIDLY ADAPTIVE, BRILLIANTLY CREATIVE
LEADER
Each one of us, in large or small ways, is a leader. The power of a leader
does not lie within the job title, rather it is within the spirit of the individual. You
will learn how a superior business leader is guided through inner wisdom cultivated by
facing life's challenges while questing for spiritual balance. "In action, you
are swift and competent; in yielding, you are unabashed; in conquering, you are
effective". Chin-Ning will lead you to recognize the nine essential abilities of a
leader; the five assets and eight liabilities of a leader; the omens of victory and defeat
and the five formulas to motivate your troops.
THE ASIAN MIND GAME AND
STRATEGIES
The London Financial Times states: "Chin-Ning convincingly makes a
case for foreigners to rethink their whole set of dynamics when negotiating with the
Chinese, Taiwanese and the Japanese...[She] offers Western business persons both the
insight of experience on both sides of the culture gap and specific, instructive examples
of the types of ploys likely to be used against them as they seek to do business in the
East". USA Today praises Chin-Ning with: "A refreshing, direct approach to her
difficult topic".
The Asian business psyche and strategies have become so
finely tuned over the last five thousand years that it is difficult for a Westerner to
detect the subtleties and refinements in the rules of the game. To win the game,
"Know thyself, know thy opponent; one hundred battles, one hundred victories",
is the main principle for victory. Chin-Ning is the first consultant/author to reveal to
the West the inner workings of the Asian mind and how it influences Asian behavior in
business. Chin-Ning's extraordinary insight will provide your organization with that
much-needed edge, saving you years of time and millions of dollars as she has for many
Western companies.
