Lance Armstrong is a global sports superstar and amongst the worlds top 3 most sought after speakers. Amazingly aged 37 he will competed in the 2009 Tour de France coming 3rd and is not quitting yet!

Lance won the Tour de France a record seven consecutive times from 1999 to 2005. In doing so, he beat the previous record of five consecutive wins, held by Miguel Indurain. This was despite being diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25, when he was already one of the world's best cyclists and given a less than 50% chance of survival.

Lance had extensive chemotherapy in 1996, to treat testicular cancer that had metastasized to his brain and lungs. With a combination of physical conditioning and a strong support system Lance's competitive spirit took over and he went on to not only beat the disease but to become the world's greatest ever cyclist.

Lance Armstrong has received countless awards which include being Sports Illustrated magazine named him Sportsman of the Year in 2002, ESPN’s Best Male Athlete 2003 – 2006 and the BBC’s Overseas Sports Personality of the Year in 2003. Lance retired from racing on July 24, 2005, after winning his seventh Tour de France.

He created the Lance Armstrong Foundation in 1997 with The Foundation's yellow rubber “Livestrong” wristbands, first launched in 2004, being a major success, netting the Foundation tens of millions of dollars in the fight against cancer. Drawing on his experiences both as a world class athlete and as a cancer survivor Lance is able to inspire audiences with his moving story.
